WSRB Performance

Deflection and working width are the main performance criteria used to select a WRSB - in NZ deflection is based on the American NCHRP 350 Test Level 3 and Test Level 4 crash test procedures. And working width can be double the claimed deflection for some WRSBs, as explained below

But consultants, designers, contractors, etc cannot simply accept the deflection figures claimed by manufacturers. Consultants, designers etc have a duty of care to look behind the claims and satisfy themselves that the WRSB they select will have the same real-life deflection in the proposed installation as the supplier might claim in his sales literature.
